Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I haven't done much riding the last few years but one of my daughters (9) really loves bike riding and she's finally old enough to tackle some real rides. Before the kids, I'd do regular early a.m. rides. Now, I'm ready to start again. Mainly I'm a road/bike trail type. Got down my GT Timberline last night and pumped up the tires, gave her some lub. Gonna stop by a local bike shop on the way home and pick up some new goodies for my trip tomorrow a.m. Wish me luck!

You got some good trail out there. Hamilton Creek off of Stewart's Ferry pike is a blast. If you like the less technical Lock 4 in Gallatin is great.

Help me with a term here, define technical, please.

Technical is generally rocky, rooty, and narrow trails. Hamilton Creek is definetly this. Lock 4 is a non technical single track it is fairly tight and twisty turns, but not that rocky and rooty. There is very shallow bed rock at hamilton creek.

That's what I figured. Count me out on the technical stuff (for now, at least). Thanks!
