Southern California - SoCal BF's New Road Bikes of 2007:

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Not mine...all she does is complain how much I spend on bike stuff.....:(
Same here. The only way my woman gets hot over my bike is by wishing she could run it over with her car. (not with me on it, luckily)

Your lucky...mine would do it with me on it if she was on her way to work and I was in the right lane!

My wife could one day make it look like my garage has been burglarized with all my bikes gone. Yes, she could be like that...

No new bike for me this year. I figure buying a titanium bike should last quite a few years.

Vance, don't you know by now that Go_Fast is all talk, no action?
He keeps saying, "I'd hit it. I'd hit it. I'd hit it.""
Yet I have seen no conclusive proof that he's hit anything. Me included.

If the average is around 3.5k (which may be low) its around 95k so far.
My two new bikes cost 1/3 of that. Does that mean I can buy another?

It's actually somewhat appalling how many SoCal BFers have bought bikes this year. Is this unusual? Was it the same in 2005 and 2006? How many bikes you all you folks have?:eek:

I actually have 5 bikes. 2 of them are beaters that I will dismantle and scavenge for parts soon. I bought 4 of them within the past year.
My newest bike, after it's first ride.

I got my mtn bike in 2005
2006 came the Allez
2007 was the S-Works
2008 . . . ;)
Man, I need to sell some. 7 road bikes, 2 recumbents, 2 BMX, and 2 framesets, plus quite a few parts.
Anyone interested in a Waterford Paramount? :)

+1,000,000.
I love Sacha. But I recently discovered a second bike manufacturer that makes a frame in my size (45cm/<50cmTT/700c) and now I'm curious. And very very afraid...

Mind boggling, huh? I knew there were a lot of postings lately about new bikes, but until I started compiling them I wasn't aware of the full extent of SoCal-BF's bike frenzy.
It is certainly interesting data for bike shop owners/dealers...

Umm, yes? 60 - 63 cm??:D

I bought more in 2006. Current stable:
2006 Strong custom steel with Record/Chorus mix
2005 Scattante 660 Ultegra, set up as Triathlon racer
199? Guerciotti steel Centaur
2007 IRO group buy special FG
2004 Iron Horse FS MTB
2005 IRO Mia SS MTB
197? Schwinn World Sport commuter (stripped and restored)
Wife's:
2005 Iron Horse Victory SE Ultegra
???? Trek 830 rigid MTB
Various extra parts, wheels, framesets, etc.
Still thinking of a newer lugged Italian steel with Chorus or Record...
Oh, yeah, I did take delivery on a Bacchetta Carbon Aero in June. That one should bump your MSRP total up. :)
Believe it or not, my upgrade fever has been quelled, and should be for some time. Part of that is just being really, really happy with my current ride. Hard to imagine, huh!
Of course, nearly pegging the divorce meter (courtesy of my current ride) gives an assist to that sensation as well. Must be kinda like what "dodging a bullet" actually feels like. ;)
All that being said, I highly recommend doing whatever it takes to get as close to exactly what you want as possible.

What he said. I'm not jealous of all these "07's", mostly because I bought MY dream bike in "04".:D
Does anyone out there believe me?

It should be very interesting to the new owners of Bikeforums.
Sure, Ralph, I beleive you. As a matter of fact, I thought I heard you say something just like that at the last meeting. Why, yes I did.
It was right after you stood up and said,"Hi, my name is Ralph, and I'm a bikeaholic."
:D
Sadly, one thing you can't upgrade is the amount of time you have available to ride. I just want to ride... alot!

you have too much time on your hands
A little Time:
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

Which frame did you end up with? The Shopping Thread shows that you got a carbon Token frame. Or did you get two frames?

No, just the Token. I'm thinking of either removing the "n"... or adding this:
