Mountain Biking - Feels Like Christmas

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

hello everyone this is my first post here. i have been lurking reading posts for awhile.
i'm waiting for my first DS bike to be delivered and i cant wait:D i didnt have too much to spend but i decided on the http://www.k2bikes.com/03products/mountain/attack_2.asp
K2 Attack 2.0. its normal price was around $675 and bikesmart.com had them on clearance for $429!! i had to order one. everything that i have found to read about K2 (which wasnt much) was good. i think i will like it. im not to hard to please.
im also excited to be getting out of the Marine Corps in three weeks and going back to California, especially since ive found out that alot of the good trails are right near my house. i live in the lancaster palmdale area, right by angeles crest:)
Congrats on your new ride! I hope you enjoy it!

well i just got back from an awesome ride on my new bike. me and two friend hit up some of the local single trac and i had a blast. the only bad thing was we were getting attacked by bird size mosquitos and weird biting bugs:eek: i must off plowed thru about 15 huge spider webs, they were thick enough it felt like it was going to tear me out of the saddle:D
i really like the full suspension, it is set up kinda stiff for my weight but i like it, that way i dont feel any bobbing in the rear suspension while pumping up hills.
the only question i have is i got a 18.5 frame because my old bike was a 19. but this bike just looks alot bigger, and i was worried about fit at first. i have about three fingers clearance on the top bar. the local bike shop guy told me that as long as i have 1 1/2 to 2 inches i will be fine, do you guys agree?
thanks
Drew...

ehhh they dont sound THAT bad:lol: i think they will serve their purpose for me. maybe once i get back home to cali where the crazy trails are i will have to upgrade.
what kinda forks do you have and how much do they cost? probably around the same price i paid for my bike:D

i am actually looking for an upgrade to the judy tt too. I am gonna stick with Fox or Marzocchi. The Marzocchi MX Comp ETA dosen't look to bad. Not gonna go with Manitou because ive heard that the reverse arch isn't that relaible.
