Mountain Biking - oil on pistons
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
i noticed my juicy 5 was seriously lacking in power, so i took it all off and took out the pads - thinking it was them with oil or muck on them. and when i took them out i noticed on one of the pistons it was covered in oil around the edges, and if i give the lever the smallest of squeezes, not really moving the pad, more oil and some air seems to come out aswell.
im taking it to my LBS later, just want a heads up.
Or the piston is damaged.
took it to the LBS. apparently this isnt anything to worry about. anyway he is going to bleed the brakes and have a look at it anyway, il see how it copes in a few days.
il see what he says on friday, he might of found a problem.
