View Full Version : Tri Bike transition to road bike
I'm new to the triathlon, but recently came across a Cannondale r600 aero. It has the aero bars and is set up as a tri bike. The cannondale is supposed to be a mix between a road and tri geometry. I don't have the funds for a road bike and want to do all my training with this bike. Should I keep the setup I have now although it's not the safest around other riders? Or do I have to get road drop bars? Any advice is appreciated
So it has bullhorns? Nothing wrong with that just stay out of the aero if you are in a group. Limited hand positions but no big deal.
yeah, it has bullhorns with shifters on the aero. I was hoping it wouldn't be a problem, but I also read a couple places that groups discourage the tri setup and don't want to ride with you.

thats mainly because when you are in the aero's you arent as stable and it takes an extra half second to get to the brakes. both of these could lead to a completely avoidable disaster if you were using regular barrs / only the bullhorns.
