What are you getting instead?

It may be useful to publish some more details of the bike's measurements as well as the single bike measurements you both ride. That way I hope be able to avoid thinking about buying it as from the measurements above it's dangerously close to our sizes. :D

TG-

It sounds like you are happy with the Calfee single you got.The only thing I see wrong is that you should get the tandem in PURPLE PEARL

Lawn??! Water it, fertilize it, cut it . . .
In AZ we use crushed granite . . . needs none of the above.
While nude, c/f looks 'cool' and will save a couple ounces, you do have to wipe frame down occasionally (every 3 to 5 weeks recommended) with Aerospace Protectant 303 (a UV screening product). Getting it clearcoated would be less time spent wiping down with AP303, and more time spent on bike . . . or lawn!
We're sure you'll enjoy the c/f tandem!

Congratulations TandemGeek on a very nice purchase. You will have the best of both in my opinion - keeping your truly special Steel Tandem as well as getting a C/F tandem with outstanding quality and design. I like the way you have set up the Erickson and the color combination is stunning. However, since I don't want to involuntarily return to full time single riding, I am going to have to do something about my bike lust - does salt peter work on this kind of lust?

What did you decide about including/excluding the lateral? I hope your delivery date will fit well with your riding plans.

Can we interpret the response as "no lateral" in 500 words or more?:)

Well, measurements are pretty close; I am 5'9" and ride a 55cm colnago, 12cm stem with 0.5cm spacer, 72.8cm saddle-bb, so I'm a bit bigger but not by much. Deal breaker for me could be in the head tube as my Colnago takes 141mm. Unfortunately I'd be using some sort of nasty upsloping stem or buying a new fork to get a nice fit. I do have an x2 sitting around at the moment waiting to be fitted to my Trek...

Can you add further details, e.g. bar width, stem length, detailed build list, frame weight etc?

Are you going to sell it based on first reasonable offer / ebay auction to highest bidder / adoption i.e. mainly whether it will have a good home?

Bottom line, how much?

TG,

I asked Glen for a price earlier this summer, but no response he was in Europe - please send $$ you are asking for your steed.

I am not as familiar with tandems, what the levers on the stokers handlebars for?

I'm looking forward to a ride report after you get some miles on the Calfee. You and your stoker have a lot of miles on a lot of different frames and it will be interesting to hear your opinions of it.

Whoever buys your Erickson will surely get a great bike.
