Like I want to show a proof and then link it to a friend.

Try GNU websites or maybe search on Knuth and LaTeX (as Knuth created it).

like I tried to google it but what kind of search would you do for google?

I tried "latex practice" and "latex links"...found some porn sites but thats about it :(
