Who all has joined the fixed-gear fanaticism? Post a pic of your fixie.

Anyone up for creating a fixed group ride? I'm thinking downtown maybe Mon. or Wed. nights. Ideas?

I'm not fixed, though the wife would probably prefer I was! ;)

I love riding fixed but I no longer have a fixed gear bike for the streets. All I have right now is my track bike. I've been on the track more and more in the past 4 weeks that I hate to convert my track my to street. I will have to look into building up another fixed gear bike to use on the street.

BTW...How did your fixed gear build turn out?

A few changes since this pic was taken but still looks similar...

I worked out at the track last night on my BFSSFG build. Frame rides great. I took a couple of pics I will post them as soon as I locate that USB cable. I will post the details over on the build thread. I built the total bike for $550 due in large part is Kevin's generosity. Thanks again for the wheels!

I also have a Peugeot conversion built up as my "grocery getter".

If downtown is too far for a group ride how about Downtown Plano? I need to work on my skidding...

Kevin, I have a 60cm Schwinn Varsity and a 60cm Azuki hanging in the garage just waiting to be converted.

Downtown Plano is good or we could go terrorize WRL on our fixies.

I was supposed to be at the track last night but my left hand/wrist is killing me. I broke the same wrist 3 years ago.

I may take you up on one of those frames. I really need a fixed gear bike for the road.

I am also looking for a frame. If anyone has a 54-57 'anything' they'd like to sell, I'd be interested. I'd either like to buy a fixie or a frame to convert with a budget build. Almost won a chrome pista on ebay!

I would like to finally get to ride with some of you guys. so whenever you figure out a night just make sure you post it so I can try and make it out sometime. I think it would be a lot of fun to cruise around downtown dallas one night

I still can't decide whether or not to build a fixie or a cyclocross bike first. I have zero fixed gear parts but I do have spare handle bars, stem and 9spd 105 groupset laying around.

Doggus's fixed is definitely swaying me tho!

Any spares frames in a 57/58 come up, pm me.

If anyone is looking for a bike for a conversion I would check with Fred DeMetrovich 214-seven two eight-1365. He has two storage units full of vintage bikes that he purchases from estate sells for resale. I bought an early 80's Japanese Lotus from him earlier this year and converted it to a SS for my nephew. $45

Kevin, swing by and take a look at the Azuki. This is a nice quality frameset with headset, stem, BB, and cranks. I believe the size should be just right. It is yours for the asking, and I will help you with the re-build.

We could be total hooligans and meet in downtown Plano, jump on the train with our bikes hook up with the Uptown Cycles Sunday night ride in the West Village.

sounds cool- we better bring printouts of the new DART rules regarding bikes.
They are more accepting of them now, but some of the train conductors dont
know it.

I can do hooligan. Do we need to bring nunchucks or brass knuckles?

I have races the next two weekends but could go after that.

Kevin got himself a fixie. We're itching to go down on the DART and cause trouble.

Hey guys,

Moving back to Plano in late June from the UK, and will be building up a new bike.

Anyone in the area riding fixed? Up for organising some downtown Plano rides/alleycats?

Small World. Yeah, I used to live in Bury near Mildenhall. Used to hang out with family friends who lived on base.

Now I am University in Oxford.

For sure. Good bike scene too.

Are there any good LBS in Plano? I am looking for somewhere that might be more of a repair kinda place than a place trying to sell new bikes. There is this awesome Co-op in Oxford, where we you can pay to become a member, and then with this you get 20% off new parts, and access to their workshop and tools on members night. I don't wanna be ripped off for having a headset pressed for example, and am more than confident in doing it myself, just need the specific tools. BB tools, Headset tools, chain whip etc.

performance bike in plano just pulled off my old 1" threaded headset and installed my new one (that i didn't buy from them) for 10bucks.
