Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Masi coltello or pista concept build

My name is David and im 18. I was on this forum under a different name several years ago but now have returned from strictly road and cyclocross racing 50+ races a season to riding some fixed too. I have had several conversions, puch and custom marinoni, but now I think its time for a true track frame to shred.

I would love a steel frame, but the search, nearly 3 years for something I really like has brought me to nahhsing. Now I think im going for aluminum.

Here are my options Masi Coltello and Bianchi pista concept. Im going to be riding this on the street, so here it goes. Theres lots of stuff on this build that has become stereotypical while I was gone.

Looking at the geometry on the concept it does seem like it may fit me well. (Long seattube, short toptube.) Do you think that is going to be the agreement over the board. Also what do you think of the component selection. also on my puch you could do barspins with the riserbar setup anybody know of clearances on the bianchi(not a major worry, but I do like to dick around on my bikes sometimes).

Masis are classic bikes. My thing though, is to REALLY consider the steel.

Otherwise, 2 of my friends ride Concepts and love them to death.

check out the DeBernardi steel. Not too expensive. Very classy. My friend has one for a working bike and its been holding up well for 3+ years.
Unless you like the feel of aluminum. I know several people that prefer it to steel for more reasons than just weight. But they are in the minority.

Masi's are fine bikes, stiff as ****, I like it to hurt when I ride.

I tend to like a laterally/vertically stiff bike. Ive ridden cannondales and specialized sworks road bikes for the past 3 years. Is the masi going to be that much more uncomfortable than a cdale? I would love to get steel but I am leaning towards the aluminum because there are no production steel bikes I like. In my mind, its either lugged or aluminum it would be tough to justify money spent on a tig welded steel bike.

Best advice in the thread. If you are only riding it in the street, go with steel. Especially if you are going to be locking up.

Any idea of what distributor deals with debernardi? and the headset is threaded, no?
