I am in my second cycling season and looking for a long sleeved jersey. I have not used one, but as my rides get longer I would like to have the pockets for stuff instead of trying to fish stuff out of my underseat bag while riding. I would prefer it not to be a billboard, but relatively plain. Anyone have any suggestions on where to find a large loose fitting jersey for a 6'1 250 pound Clyde?

If you've got a short sleeve jersey you like, you can maybe get arm warmers? I wear a long sleeve poly-pro top under my regular short sleeve jerseys when it's cold, and that works well for me.

Both Performance and Nasbar make large, loose fitting jerseys.

There are a lot of options for long sleeve jerseys out there. I own a couple but my arms are long so they don't work that great for me. They're also not very versatile (unless you don't mind wearing bike clothes off the bike) so I've adopted alternatives:

I usually add arm warmers to a short sleeve jersey and, if needed, a vest over the jersey. This seems to work a lot better for me and is a more flexible layering strategy for longer rides.

Another thing I do is add a base layer underneath a short sleeve jersey for short rides. A lot of people seem to do this. You get all the pockets without having to buy a new jersey and it's easier to find longer sleeve lengths. You can go cheap ($12 duofold) or pricey ($60 merino wool). The main benefit is that you can use those base layers for other activities. It might seem stupid to buy a $60 base layer to outfit a $50 jersey, but I can wear that base layer while running, hiking and snowboarding.
