I am a newbie to this Forum.
A retired Englishman, living in southern Spain, with my Venezuelan wife and loving every minute!
I was going rusty in England, with all the rain! Still proud to be English though.
I ride a Dahon Roo EL electric assist folding bike, while my wife rides a Dahon Speed 6 regular folder, which means I am always waiting for her to catch up but she says she prefers the manual version.
When I become familiar with the site, I will post some pictures.
Cheers.

Hello briotone, whereabouts in England are you from? You are an international ambassador of goodwill--the UK, in Spain, with Venezuela. I know there must be a good story there.

Photos are always good!

Welcome to BF!

Hi East Hill,
thanks for your reply.
I was born and raised in west London, a place called Hammersmith.
My bicycling giddy heights back then was a B.S.A. (Birmingham Small Arms, they also made guns) sports bike, a rather scruffy second, maybe fifth hand machine? Painted it, bought some toe clips and super dooper drop handlebars and joined thje C.T.C. (Cyclists Touring Club, loiterer's section)).
The first trip was from Hammersmith to Bath and back, a round trip of some 140 miles in one day! my front view for most of the journey was the back end of the cyclist in front of me!!
I quickly decided, after my own rear end had recovered, that maybe the Club was not for me? If that was the loiterer's section, I shuddered to think what the fast guys did!!!
However, it did not destroy my enjoyment for the sport in general. I spent many happy miles with that bike, keeping somewhat closer to home turf.
For my sins, I am very pro-American, been several times. Once to Canada on semi-business and four times to the States on vacation.
When we emigrated to Spain, I brought my SCOTT USA Hybrid with me, a super bike. However, I decided to trade for a couple of folders that would fit into the RAV4, to enable visits to the mountains, etc.
It all works very well. There are some very beautiful areas in Spain, all with a rugged grandeur that I love.
I promise to take pictures in the near future, OK?
Cheers, briotone.

The Loiterer's section...

:roflmao:

I suspect that me mum's side of the family were involved in BSA--they were listed as gun makers/metal trade workers on some of the old censuses.

As always, I look forward to photos :) .
