at the Tour of Missouri Stage 3 in Branson, Mo. Got a chance to preview the 2008 line of Felt bikes (I'm especially excited about the F1X) and personally speak with Jim about the bike, his company and my aspirations as a new cyclist. Very nice guy... and I was impressed that the owner of the company is actually traveling with the caravan to personally show off his works of art.

How was the time trial? I live in Columbia and I'm taking tomorrow off work. I'm going to try to get down to see them at the King of the Mountain line and then hit a couple more spots before beating into Columbia for the finish. Maybe Mr. Felt will be in Columbia and I can meet him as well.

It was awesome. I served as a course marshal. I was assigned a spot on the Ozark Mountain Highroad where they flew by on the down grade and had to work a bit harder going back up. It was a hill infested course. The winning average speed over 18 miles was 27.26 MPH. Levi Leipheimer won, Nathan O'Neil of Aussie fame was second, Matti Helminan from Finland was a surprise third. Hincapie still wears the yellow. Very nice day and very exciting. As the day wore on and the better riders came by, you could really tell a difference in their climbing. At the end, the spread starts out to two minutes. George Hincapie still caught two guys who started in front of him. As I assume you know, George was the last rider and when he want back by on the upgrade, I jumped in my truck and went on ahead and got to watch him ride maybe eight of the last 10 miles of the course. Very exciting and fun day.

Why excited about the F1x? Isn't it the same for 2008 as 2007 and even previous years?
