Ok, for me its Tivo. I think I'm the last guy that I know to buy one. Just got it installed today, how did I ever live without this thing! I can't wait to have to go to the bathroom now so that I can "pause" live TV. So cool.

What do you have that you don't know how you went without, before you got it?

A bike.
Duh! I thought that was obvious.

My bicycle. I seem to remember a form of bipedal motion that allowed my feet to make direct contact with roads, but haven't used it in so long I'm almost sure I've forgotten.

Usually if a show is really interesting I just put some newspaper down in the living room.

Dual-monitor setup at work. Hands down the one upgrade that you can never return from. Anything else is..well..primitive.

....not sure. a job maybe,. My fiance....hmmmm

Tivo I still don't have, I am considering building my own however.
Coffee, sucks to be without it but it wouldn't be the worst thing.
You could say the internet but I have a love hate relationship with the internet and what it is doing for (and against) communication.

I think the better question would be, what would you rather live without....
cell, blackberry, internet, heck even a pc.

The need to consume calories to continue living. I'd be able to accomplish much more that way.

Not true.....I am very well versed in boolean logic and know hot to apply it. Search engines just didn't cut the mustard until Google.

Yeah, well, these days, Google kind of blows as well, sometimes. Not entirely their fault, though.

What do you have that you don't know how you went without, before you got it?

For me it was hydration systems and down jackets. Before I got them I thought they were just for poseurs. Now I don't know how I would cope without them. No dehydration headaches while my water bottle lurks in my pack any more, and to be nice & toasty warm when I stop.

No wait, it must be the internet thingy. Without it, I wouldn't have found two of the most useful sites on earth: Sheldon Brown and Bike Forums.:D

I changed jobs and went back to one monitor (from 3, at a time 4 at my old job), brutal...

But they supposedly got some 27 inchers on the way for me...

I don't think about it much anymore, but some smartypants likes to remind me of this form of motion whenever I'm trackstanding in the men's room.

Or at least so I thought until about 2 months ago.

Now, I'm gonna have to go with, nothing. Except for the essentials on the bottom of the needs pyramid

A/C. I grew up without it. I also spent parts of summers with my maternal grandparents, who had only a hand-pump on the porch, and no other "indoor" plumbing. And no telephone 'til 1977.... We got along just fine, as people do when that's all they know (speakin from the POV of us kids at the time).... It was, in fact, a nice time we had there.... :)
