"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Silvermine TTT looking interesting

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hell, if I was not racing, I might come out just for the TTT talent. There are more state champions than you can shake an aerobar at! Should be interesting, yet I do NOT see PCad with Jerry Martinez or Mark Albert as a team. Why is that? And how about KP, GWizard, and PCad for a BF team? Marcello in NY? I do not see Dura Ace registered either. It's too bad.
Empire - not doing the ITT beforehand. They are fresh and Loehner won nationals TTT with Saturn who still holds the 100k TTT record. Zmolik just got done doing an ~52 minute 40k a few weeks back.

Westwood Velo team Zero- Mike G could be the fastest guy around beating Al Arnal at the NJ State TT champs this year by over 30 seconds (Al was the nations number one ranked cat 2 TTist in the country). The only guy to beat Mike G in a longer TT in the past 2 years? His teammate Aspholm, beating him in a 40k by almost 2 minutes.

In theory, there will be other good teams there (total of 22 teams), but I think those are the guys to watch. Do you Cali Guys get good TTTs out there? And for you east coasters, why are you not registered?
Who is in?

I can think of a couple masters teams from the Midwest who'd give them a run for their money.
Particularly a team by the name of Delta Faucet/Indy Velo.

How odd that nobody has recruited Pcad for their team. Pity. I could help somebody win the coveted Silvermine Molasses Cup. First prize is a watch that will only show Standard time with the hands rotated backwards one hour.

Pcad Silvermine TT Passing Pool results: Passed by 3 riders, but I passed 3 riders. The 'Zero' box wins the pool.
The people I passed were Freds and Girl Scouts on Big Wheels, but let's not mention that. And a good time was had by all. Lovely day, outstanding race organization, and indoor plumbing with ample stalls AND tollet paper, all 20 minutes from my home. THAT is as close to bike racing heaven as it gets. And I got to meet Dr. W. He looked like my son, and he's over 30. Geez, I'm getting way too old for this ****.
Actually I awoke in utter dread of this race. Didn't sleep so good or feel so great. But once I was on the course I really enjoyed the TT. Felt like I was about to cough up blood at the end, so I suppose I rode as hard as I could. I wanted to break 40 mins., I think I missed by 15 secs. or so. Dr. W. rode like 34 mins. But it really was big fun today. TT's are cool.
Nice finally meeting you Dr. W. You don't LOOK like a mutant.

My result would have been considerably less embarrassing had I registered as a 4/5. Luckily for Pcad, bicycle racing has successfully crushed every last molecule of his ego, so there is no shame. This is very liberating.
93rd out of 159 entrants. That is DFL + 66. And of course, nowhere to go but UP.

Hey, congrats! I'd bump it up 12 places to 81st, because there were 12 teams that finished in front of you (and several that finished behind you!).
Congrats to Dr.WJOD as well -- he'd have won the 3s by a mile if not for the organization anomalies.

Race weenie hint: NEVER congratulate a guy for 81st place. But thanks anyway : ). Of course anything above DFL beats DNF.

I'd never congratulate you for 81st. I'm congratulating you for a finish (which implies signup, a start, and possibly some training).

Pcad -- you're going about this all wrong. The way I read it, you got a top 20 in your category, and I know your sponsor is pleased. That's got to be good for something. Maybe you should reward yourself with a new pair of socks.

that was my lame attempt at humor -- I noticed you were self-sponsored. But then, you are a self-hating bike weenie, so maybe your sponsor was not pleased.

You talked me in off the ledge dude. Nice work. But I still hate myself. No new socks for me until I make the top 50.
