foreign accent syndrome. btw I hit myself in the head with a hammer just prior to typing this. please read it with a british school girl accent.

There was a story in Bicycling about Saul Raisin. When he woke from his coma he spoke perfect native-accent French. He spoke some before but now he's fluent.

After my concussion I knew how to talk to girls.

I have dreams in which people are speaking completely fluent Chinese -- WAAAAY better than what I'm able to speak consciously. So if I hit my head, I'll be totally fluent AND have crazy success with the wimmins???

Though, I have to say that some of those rocks are really built, y'know what I mean? Thick.

Although my spoken English is pretty decent and without too much of a Swedish accent (when I lived in Ireland, the Irish would think I was North American, and visiting North Americans thought I was Irish!), it could certainly be better... :D

In my dreams, though, I often find myself speaking fluently and perfect. I think inhibitions play a part. If we allowed ourselves to really let go of our inhibitions and relax, we would be able to speak a lot better. Maybe a severe blow to the head, in the right place, could both knock out the part of the brain where our mother tongue resides and at the same time shatter inhibitions...?

seems the irish aren't very good at pegging accents.

when i was there for work last year i was asked what part of the north i was from - as in north ireland.

Makes sense to me. I'd met some Northern Irish and they're accents were so harsh I thought they were from some central European place.

I've always thought that my Chinese improves dramatically with beer. Perhaps that's why. At least, I *think* it improves :p

I fell off a swing once and I spoke like I swallowed a squeaky toy for 5 mins.
