Ok, I've got a Minorua SpaceBar here and the |-------[] long vertical extension is 71.43mm/2.8120in according to my diig-caliper.

I am looking for a vertical extension that is longer so I can under mount the unit on the stem. Right now when I undermount on the stem when I turn the bike inside the home or carry the bike to and fround I've ripped out the brake cables a few times causing me to fix the brakes or else the brakes will clamp the wheel.
Stem over mount does not work with my blinkies as I get massive phantom mileage on my bike computer. When I bar mount it does not look good on the bike.

I would much prefer to under mount also because I get more concentrated light where it matters, on the road.

So here are my specs.

Horizontal = 130.22mm/5.1270inch
Vertical = 71.43mm/2.8120inch

If possible I'd also like a wider horizontal bar but for now the vertical is the important thing.

My model is the adjustable angle type. It also has problems on bumps and curb jumping as it starts to drop downward and I have to readjust it upwards.

I would like an adjustable model that is more solid. By solid I mean something that can take offroad riding as with rough urban riding.

Two things that might help, but I dunno.

First, on one of my Internet surfing expeditions looking at bicycle light mounts, I saw a Minoura Spacebar that was longer than the one I have, with an extended base. I'll try to find the link and post it (if that sounds like it might be one of the things you need).

Second, I think that if you wanted to extend the length of the round mounting bar (the bar that you actually mount the lights or computers to), you could remove the end plugs and find a dowel of the right diameter to fit into the ends of the bar. You'd need one short length of dowel for each end of the spacebar (if desired) but could extend it however far you wanted to, within reason. You could likely find a length of dowel close enough to an exact fit at just about any hardware store. If too big in diameter, just sand it down a bit or if too small in diameter just add something like electrical tape and slip the dowel into place inside the tube. You could paint the dowel black to match your space bar (if yours is the black version). Anyway, that might be one way to extend a spacebar.

I don't know if that's the kind of solution you might be looking for or not (I was trying to follow your description, but not sure if I was in sync with what you are looking for).

(This doesn't apply to what you're asking, but two spacebars could even be joined to span the handlebars across the stem by using a length of dowel between the two.)

41.02mm x 75.30mm x 35.17mm

or

1.6150 inch x 2.9645 inch x 1.3845 inch

My current swing bar is hard to mount as I'm already at the max extention on the mounting strap and barely mountable without great difficulty holding everyhitng with both hands while trying to screw the mount on.

OK ZE just settle down. This is your old biker pal Sherpa 93. Heres what you do. First you get a bike. Then you get Geico bike insurance. Now you need a catchy nickname like angry spacebar guy. ZE: well I dont know about that... Too Late Angry its already stuck:p HeHe... Seriously though I detest crowded handlebars :( so I made my own "spacebar". I use the reflector mount bent down with a piece of broom handle on top. File a flat spots and drill a hole. I have 2 lights it doesnt interfere with brake cables. Does bounce some on rough roads. Not a big deal really. It always comes back to original position. Minorua first priority is to make profit for bosses Lexus payments. Good product is further down the list... DIYers dont have this problem :)

By the way, the "XL" spacebar is 130x120mm (about 45mm longer base than your current one).

What if you mounted one of these to the stem then mounted the spacebar to it? To many attachments, maybe unstable?
