Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Ability to Search using some short terms (3 figures long)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It can be frustrating when using the search tool to search using short terms.
It seems to disallow terms 3 figures or shorter.
I can understand not wanting to search for things like 'to' or 'an' etc

But if I am search for a specific model number (e.g. TREK 830) it fails because '830' is too short. Then I search just under 'TREK' and I get WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many hits.

If I search under 650B, I do get hits

is there a way around this? I like to do research on model numbers, and it is nearly impossible to do that with this type of search filter

Thanks!

I think a reference to another thread would be good:

So, you might want to PM Joe or Brian about including that type of thing--still don't know if it will make it happen, though, and I don't know whether or not a specific term like could be feasible. But you could ask :) .

Thanks
I dropped a message for Wilbur

it seems being able to search using numbers (e.g. 520 or 830 etc) would be useful.

Well, yeah, that works too. But then I have to read ads.
