I decided I'm really never going to restore my old PX10 that I've had since 1976, so I took it all apart to build my first fixie... I've got a few things to learn like if I can use the Stronglight 93 cranks with only one chainring, but I think it's going to be fun.

Original paint is actually pretty rough in person, but here it is. I'll probably change the pedals to Speedplay to match my road bike...

Looks good Jim! We need to do a Rebel fixed gear day with David Wu, Chuck Chen, Frank (the MASI guy) and Fixed Gear Mike!

Thanks Rick, but the photo really doesn't show the old paint condition. I'm looking forward to riding it with all you guys, but I need some time to get used to it first!

I'll put this is a separate post, but I wanted to place it here too:
OCRR Fixed Gear Century:
Saturday, February 7th: This is going to be a day which will have something very special for those in our group that ride a "fixed gear" bike as well as those that like to put in those long miles. We are going to have a "fixed gear century": a set of routes that will be perfectly suited for those that ride a fixed gear bike and would like to do a long ride. We will have a 7:00 AM century as well as the metric at 8:00 AM with the shorter rides at 9:00 AM. This will be as flat as we can make it, in other words a "flat land century" aimed at the "fixed gear riders".
I'll be there on my fixed gear MASI! Anyone else?
NOTE: This century is not Fixed Gear exclusively, so single speeds and multi-gear bikes are also welcome.

My frame is really old ('77) but I'll be there anyway. I'm old too, and a lot older than '77!

Hey, One of my riding partners nicknamed me the "Fountain" on a long roadride the other day...
I've ridden single speed (freewheel) Cross for quite a while. I commute lots of miles for work, play, and for school in San Diego.
Recently I began working at Adams Ave Bike shop in Normal Heights. The guys there are hardcore ss riders, most former bike messengers, track racers, Richie is even in a ss movie or two.
I converted my Soma Fab into a fixed gear in order to get used to the idea and to test the water for track racing at the local velodrome.
Becoming accustomed to riding it has been a total blast. I commute cross county to work on bikes for a rental shop too. The ride down grades here has me using brakes along with the fixed gear. Its practical, safe, and saves on tires. Learning to skid reminds me of being four and learning how to skid again...
I began taking the track classes offered at the San Diego velodrome, they are mandatory before you can race. The rental bikes were cool and all, but I knew I wanted something that I could run a rag over and take better care of. I like a sweet bike...
I purchaced a Leader fixed gear specific track bike. The guy I bought it from had just built a new bike, steel and sweet. This Leader was imaculate. I fit perfectly on it, put some drop bars on, and switched to a lighter seat post and saddle. Riding it at last nights track class was the first time I was able to test it against other bikes. It did just fine.
I'm a convert. I still however ride my ss with brakes, a tandem with my lady, and my vintage Miele with full durace on local club rides.
sincerely,
The Fountain.

Hideehoo...
I had a set of the White Industries/ Eno hub wheels built up by Harrison Cylces. Yes, they were a bit spendy, but they simply rule! The main advantage being that I don't have to use a tensioner. The tensioners work ok, but the chain can come off on bumpy descents...
I really like the Eno!
