I am not a frame builder, but I will soon be having a frame built. I have decided I want something very similar to the Campy 1010 long horizontal dropouts with eyelets (it's for a bike that might be geared or single speed at times, so it needs the dérailleur hangar and a long drop out). I would really prefer if it had two sets of eyelets, of which the original campy dropouts only have one. My question: Do there exist any machinists producing a dropout that fits this description (definitely forged, not stamped or pressed)? I've tried to do my share of searching, but as I am not a frame builder, I don't quite know where to look for such a thing. And I suppose, since it seems the campy dropouts are still obtainable, is there any reason not to use the original product?

Double eyelet horizontal dropouts are available. As long as they come from a reputable manufacturer it doesn't really matter how they are made. If you are stuck on Campy dropouts I think a decent framebuilder can just braze on whatever eyelets you want.

campy didn't really make those dropouts. They were made by Tecnociclo and they stamped the buyers name on them. So Campy, Cinelli, Richard Sachs

Brazing on a second set of eyelets will be very simple for your builder. The only trouble is that brazed-on eyelets aren't typically as strong as cast-in ones, so should probably not be heavily loaded. Assuming you want two sets to accomodate rack and fenders, use the brazed-on set for the fenders.
