How do you know if a trailer will work on your bike? I've got a Burley bike that's got a rack on the back, disc brakes and an internal hub. This is the bike that I'd most like to use it on, but I know all that stuff might complicate things.. I've also got a lugged steel road bike from the 80's with a rack, normal brakes (v brakes I think) and a normal rear deraileur. I think it would probably work okay with this bike because it's got more standard parts. The trailer I'm looking at is the Burley flatbed. My LBS doesn't carry it stock, but they'll order it for me no problem, I just want to make sure it'll work before I order it!

Burley has got 3 different types of hitches, so one of them is bound to work for you. I'd contact Burley, tell them what kind of bike you have and see what they recommend. Then if what you need isn't the stock hitch, you can at least have ordered it and have it for when the trailer arrives.

Why worry about a 'special' hitch?? The hitch I've used for
my trailer is a strip of tire sidewall looped around my seat
post. Same strip for all of those 30 years I've had the trailer.

I like the strip 'cause it twist when I need it to and I dare ya
to break it towing a load. ;)
