Anyone else do this today?
I did my first century and in the tradition of letting everyone know my stats...
104.6 miles (including my ride to and from the train station)
Average speed: 14.2
Total saddle time (official century miles only) 7 hours 1 minute
Total time: 8 hours 15 minutes approx.
Max speed 38.5
I drank about 3 bottles of water, 2 bottles of gatorade, and ate 3 bananas, a handful of grapes, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and 3 granola bars
I do not own any cycling apparal and rode with 2 layers of cotton t shirts and jogging pants and occasionally a windbreaker.
I was told on a few occasions that I could probably be a strong rider if I got a lighter bike and cycling shorts and jerseys.
Maybe some of you even noticed me, my pants were bright green.

Great first century, congrats! especially in jogging pants - you must have a comfy saddle!
I rode it, my first century as well (brief writeup here (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=344298)).
Do you ride with the WCC at all? If not, you should check us out (http://www.westchestercycleclub.org). There are fewer scheduled rides as it gets colder, unfortunately, but there's still some good stuff this year. Many rides meet right near white plains, at SUNY purchase.
A small group of us did the 50mi. Took us about 4hs and change with the stops.
Weather was gorgeous. Volunteers did a great job.
Good event.
Will probably do it next year.
Didn't see the green pants but did see an older gentleman on a purple bike singing as he was pedaling along.

I rode that one yesterday. I just did the 25 miler, because I'm out of shape and slow. Glad I did it though! Perfect day for riding. My only wish was that the route didn't go on the MUP. There are some days that I don't mind riding on the path. Yesterday wasn't one of them. That gets kind of crowded when you've got so many riders on there plus the normal walkers/couples/kids/dogs traffic. Also, I was riding in amongst a few people when we got honked at by a car coming up behind (the only one I recall). It was, of course, a state trooper in a suburban.

How much of the 25 route was on the MUP? I think the 50 hit it as well, so you'll have to shoot for at least the 75 next year :D
Wegot buzzed by a scrreeeaming corvette. I felt quite a wind as it blew by me - can't have been more than 2 feet between us. Scary.
We also heard that someone had dumped a bunch of thumbtacks on the side of the road where cars wouldn't hit them, but bikes would. Never saw them, but several people ahead of us had apparently succumbed to flats, so maybe the organizers sent someone out to sweep them out of the way.

Yep! Did the 75 miler yesterday, struggling mightily for the final 10-15 miles. Averaged only about 13.7 for this last bit, which brought my overall avg down to ~ 15.5 mph. Last year, I did the century and felt great great. Must've overestimated my fitness this year (June surgery didn't help) and underestimated my fuel needs (hardly ate any real foods along the way, relying mostly on my carb/protein energy drinks).
The weather was frickin' cold in the a.m., though it turned out to be perfect for a long ride. Liked the black t-shirt, too, which was a giant step up from the puke-green socks they gave out last year!
Definitely one of my favorite organized rides, and it was well supported. Next time, I'll make a point of eating more of the food that's available.
I did the 75. 5:29 moving time, 6:44 total time. The 11 miles between the 3rd and 4th rest stop felt like it was entirely uphill. I didn't see any tacks, my only incident was on a downhill, going about 30mph, some teenage girl in a BMW went through a stop sign and I barely missed going into her and skidded to a stop. Her expression was like "Woopsie". I saw a dude doing the 75 on a yellow folding bike, and it looked like it had only one chain ring in front.

I did the 75. The hills were brutal. Am I remembering correctly the map at the start, 6400 feet of climbing on the 75?
At the 50 mile rest stop, I saw at least 5 bikes with tack punctures. I was sitting on the grass and heard one guy pull out the tack...psssssss.
>> Per GPS in post above, it was 5600 ft.
