For some reason, I guess lazyness, I decided to put my bike in my back seat this morning to travel to my olympic triathlon. Got to the first light and stopped. So did the car behind me, at least for a little bit. Just waiting for the light to turn green and bam! The lady behind my says she's sorry and her foot must have slipped off the brake. She messed up my back bumper pretty good, but if my bike was there....???
So I did the race and it went pretty well. Went down to 43 last night so I was concerned it would be to cold but it was fine. Shorty wetsuit in the 67 degree water, long sleeve bike jersey for the bike and sleeveless race jersey for the run.
So part of me is glad my bike wasn't there and I could do the race, but another part of me kinda wishes that the bike was there!!! I would have just gone home and got my trusty old Schwinn Traveler. Is that right? I mean I only bought it at the beggining of last year when I didn't know I would get so into to triathlon. A nice insurance check could have been a good down payment on a better bike. :)
