Is the shedding as bad as I've heard? I really want a corgi but I don't know if I can deal with massive amounts of dog hair everywhere.

Brush them daily and you won't have that much hair. I just make it part of my nightly procedure.

We have had Corgis for the past 15 years. They are the coolest dogs anyone could have! However, they do shed like crazy. We shave our Corgi's hair in the hot summer months, and that makes it better for all of us.

Never owned one, but I'm a huge fan of Ein on Cowboy Bebop!

My dog is a Pomeranian/Corgi mix and she shed like crazy. She likes when I brush her though, so I do it often.

Bailey is a cutie.

A friend of mine has a wheaton terrier who is great. Looks a lot like this:

They're hypoallergenic, no shedding!

Repeating this pic for sheer delightfulness:

The inconvenience of the shedding will be more than outweighed by the personality, charisma, and loyalty of the dog.

The ears help improve TV reception as well. Cheers ~

Now all I have to do is talk my gf into a Corgi.

did you mean "own"?

No...I'm sure he meant 'one'.

bpp: Do you really like corgis, or are you looking for just some kind of dog? What's steering you toward corgis?

Here's a list of minimal-shedding dogs (http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/lightshedders.htm)...notice no dogs are non-shedding....unless, of course, you want an American Hairless Terrier (http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/americanhairlessterrier.htm) or one of these weirdos (http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/xoloitzcuintle.htm).

There are Cardigan Welsh Corgis with longer hair and a tail, and Pembroke Welch Corgis with shorter hair like the photos of Bailey. There are pictures or Cardigans on lots of Corgi web sites.
They do shed. But the small size and relatively short coat reduces the volume compared to medium or full size dog with a full coat. I don't find it much of a problem. It is not much work to brush such a small dog outside compared to a big dog. It takes a few seconds.

Now all I have to do is talk my gf into a Corgi.
That's easy, show her pictures of Bailey in his trike and then a live one. Then a couple of my videos. Problem over.:)

Corgis are small dogs that think they are big dogs. He wrestles with big dogs all the time he loves it. They are bred to herd cattle. They are the smallest of the herding breeds. A herding dog is bred to respond to human voice comands. Just be consistent and they are very easy to train. Bailey has trained himself to do things I repeat. Like bark when I yell "passing". He almost house trained himself.
"Bailey Cam" shows him barking when I yell passing. http://www.youtube.com/my_videos
Show your girlfriend "Party at Bailey's house".

Here are some of the threads with Bailey photos. http://www.bikeforums.net/search.php?searchid=4421155

If your girlfriend does not want a Cogri after this, something is wrong with her! ;) (just kidding)
