I don't see much on this forum about the PBP (Paris-Brest-Paris) ride which is held every four years in France. It is a 1200 km unsupported ride where about 4000 riders participate (including a lot of ex-Tour de France riders).

This year it takes place August 18-22. The 1200 km must be completed within 90 hrs after starting out (including all stops). The route is a little hilly so there are some good challenges.

If you haven't registered yet, you are much too late. Besides you have to qualify by doing the 200, 300, 400, and 600 km rides (basically at an average of 15 km/hr) in an authorized meet.

You could still qualify for the BMB (Boston-Montreal-Boston) or the RM1200 (Rocky Mountain 1200 in BC Canada) which will be held next year about the end of July.

I'm following the PBP simply because my daughter is riding it and because I have started qualifying for the RM1200 next year.

Any brave souls out there who would like to join the ride too? :D

I believe our very own Velo is competing in PBP also. Good luck to her!

Check those links- I know people are arranging to meet up in Paris. Have fun and be sure to post lots of pics when you get back! :D

Drop a PM to Velo- she can give you her number, I'm sure. She's on sporadically because she's racing, but if you send an email, you may have more success reaching her these days.

Is the PBP televised in some way? Need a jolt. Still going through TdF withdrawals...

As far as I know it is not televised.

You can get a list of the names and numbers of all the 4000 riders on the following site
