General Cycling Discussion - Fubar5, Dirtgrinder & Bike Collector meet

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

We met and did the "Tour de Mid-Missouri" today! It was great meeting Fubar after just talking on the forums all this time. Never would have expected to meet him when he was in S. Carolina but since he's near St. Louis now it's not that far.
We met this morning and rode the trails at Rock Bridge State Park in Columbia, then ate lunch and went to Jefferson City and rode the trails at Binder Lake. Had a great time and got to meet a really nice guy. We're planning on another meeting in St. Lous sometime to ride Castlewood.

Always nice when a forum can bring people together. So how was the ride? The weather looked cooperative.
The ride kicked butt! We had a couple semi-mechanicals(Dirtgrinders handlebars slipped and my rear tire/tube blew up), and Bike Collector trimmed a few trees for the park service, but what would a ride be without any of that kinda stuff?

I thought I was mad for liking wind, hills and rain. You mean to tell me you like having your tyres blow up?
Well, it makes the whole experience a little richer I guess. :p

Don't worry, Chris. I've been reading your posts and I still think you're plenty mad. :D

I love it when BFers get together! Glad to see you wore your Jersey, Fubar! Guess I have been out of touch. When did you move to St. Louis. Did the whole family move or are you going to school there?
Regards,
Raymond

My dad got transfered from Shaw AFB SC (where we were) to Scott AFB IL, we moved here at the end of June-Beginning of July. We actually live in Fairview Heights, which is about 10 minutes outside of St.L on the IL side of the river. One can see the arch from the end of our road.
The ride is still with me folks, as I seem to have made a contract for misery with poison ivy.
