Help a brother out. I used to live in Chicago, and spent many a summer in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. I could really use some good Q.
Willing to go to a dive, corrugated tin shack to get it.
Actually, would prefer it.
NOTE - Red, Hot & Blue isn't even close.
I love Red, Hot and Blue. It's not quite as good as BB King's in Memphis, but that's expected, eh? :)

Three Pigs in McLean used to be pretty good, but it's been a few years since I've been there.

Check out the Washington Post's "find a restaurant" guide and type in BBQ. The one found in the link below (near Dulles Airport) received a favorable review. My friend catered a party with their food. My pulled beef sandwich seemed good, but I'm not a connoisseur of BBQ--it all tastes the same to me.

Rocklands is often mentioned as the best. Not a corrugated shack. It's in Georgetown:

Kenny's BBQ on Capitol Hill is good. It's located at 8th and Maryland NE.
Andy Nelson's on York road in Cockeysville Md. Andy was a pro bowl safety for the colts back in the late 50's when they won the championship. He learned the trade from his father. Heck of a nice guy, unlike todays athlete he will sit come up to to you and chat. Brisket slow cooked for 14 hrs.
hope this helps

I really like Willards out by the dulles expo center. www.dcbbq.com
all american bbq or something like that on telegraph road right before route 1 in springfield is pretty good too. Its also along the way to some good riding.
Jammin Joe's is just north of Warrenton, Va off of rte 29 on the south bound side. It is a little shack/trailer that has some the best BBQ around it may be a drive for you but it is really good and worth it.
