i have got a 32 tooth sprocket on my bike at the moment if i put a 33 on it would it make the gearing higher or lower and how much of a difference would it make?

There are loads of gear ratio calculators available. Google Sheldon Brown Gear Calculator and you can figure it out for yourself.
The short answer is you will go about an inch and a half further with each pedal stroke and it will be slightly harder to pedal.

dont change the back 33-13 is pretty standard gearing, its the same as 44-16. what do you want, a harder gear?

It all depends on what you are doing. For myself, I want 28-10.

no, shes stupid. her bike stock is 43 16. IF its changed to 28 she must be slow or not have 16.
