With about 10 miles to go on my normal morning ride I began to sense that the trike was not rolling as well as usual. I have had this delusion before, and never found any real cause, just an "off day".
I completed the ride, but noticed my knees hurt a little bit more than usual. My average speed was off by a half MPH.
So I get home, and get off the trike. Oops, I have a flat rear tire. It appears I rode about 10 miles with a flat.

I had the same thing happen but only rode about a quarter mile before all the air ran out and I felt the roughness of the rear tire on the road. However, last week after cleaning my bike I felt the "slowness" and realized my Fastback frame bag's strap was over the chain! It didnt tear it up but I couldnt believe I didnt notice it sooner.

Can you mount a maintenance mirror to keep an eye on your back tire, or is this just plain dumb?

On a trike it's possible to lean over and look at the rear end directly - without falling over. So yeah, a mirror would probably be a waste. ;)

I think looking at my rear tire would be darned near impossible, but I have started reaching back and squeezing the tire once in a while when stopped.
I had already developed a similar habit for my flag after finding the pole loose from the mount and sticking out dangerously near the rear spokes.

Ok, glad I asked in the manner I did. :)
This trike thing is my new hunt.

My back tire is can be visible in my rear view mirror on my Windcheetah. Just a matter of leaning the right way.

Saw a trike the other day, on a bike path. Do trikes actually ride in traffic ? Can the really be used instead of a regular bike in all circumstances or are all trike owners more or less living nearby an extensive net of bike paths ?
Cheers.

Removed on cooler thought. I hope this was a joke on the recumbent page.
Oh, and if it was not a joke, KMA.
