"To have a single set of rules applying to all sports and all athletes, and to have an international convention approved by so many countries, is just remarkable."
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaqhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Yea single set of rules apply to all sports........only in his dreams. Now maybe they will be able to get rid of LNDD and really clean up the Anti-Doping world.

I thought it was rather common knowledge that he was going to be stepping down. I guess the question is - who will be taking his place?
I had heard that he was, but much like Castro or the Energizer Bunny, he just wouldn't go away.
If memory serves, Dick P was the deputy of the IOC under Samaranch (sp?) When that crooked fellow stepped down, many thought it was Dick's to lose but, international sports being the cess pool that it is in terms of political intrigue, it went to Mexico? Dick was given the consolation prize of heading up the new WADA where he's been a thorn in many organizations' buttocks.
I think there will be more than a few who are happy to see his backside but the question remains, who will replace him? Again, look to the politics of the choice. IMO, China, Russia and many others have vested interests in being able to corral/contain WADA's efforts to clean up sports.
Ciao.
