BMX - street/flatland pegs?

hi, i'm in the process of getting some pegs to my bike, mainly for flatland use but i would occasionally like to do some grinding.

are there any multipurpose light weight pegs out there, or can i use threaded aluminum flatland pegs for some grinding now and then without them bending or breaking?

also, are 10 mm axles going to last?

Standard Hand Grenades are the best street/flat pegs ever. They're nice and big (comfy) but made of steel so they won't disintegrate when you grind. Don't bother with threaded pegs; there's a reason no-one uses them anymore, they suck.

As for 10mm axles, they should be OK to start off with, but when you break them (you will if you grind alot), get a Standard or Kink heat treated axle. They're nearly as strong as regular 14mm axles. Of course if you have the money, a frame and fork with 14mm dropouts and some 14mm hubs would be better.

the big thing about pegs for street is they usually need to be not knurled. if they are and you jump a cement-type ledge, you'll lose speed really fast.

oh, thanks. that was actually what i was trying to ask, but i mixed up the words "knurled" and "threaded".

why aren't there any pegs which are smooth on one side and knurled on the other...?

Because no-one's ever thought of it! Well, someone probably has...

Hand Grenades are only knurled at the ends though.
