Congratulations to Janet Christiansen, the winner of the Hoodoo 500 Voyager Division with a time of 44 hours 37 minutes.

Janet rode the entire 519 mile race course randonneur-style, completely self-supported - and still finished faster than two solo men, each of whom had support crews! Very impressive, indeed!
:-)

The Voyager Division at the Hoodoo 500 is unique to this race. No other 500-mile race in the country allows participants to race without crews, or even to ride any portion of the course at night alone.

While Planet Ultra did not heavily promote the Voyager Division for 2007 (instead, had three test riders), the 2008 race will be open to 15 qualified racers to compete in this self-supporting division.

All the info about the race, including results and photos from last weekends event are at http://www.Hoodoo500.com

The race report will be posted soon!

Happy Riding!

Correction: The Hoodoo 500 is the only race with 500 "unique" miles where riders can participate self-supporting. The Texas Tejas 500 route is a 20 mile loop that riders go around and around, and cars aren't allowed on the course. Riders can leave their supplies at the start/end of the 20 mile loop and help themselves every time they go around.
