Bicycle Mechanics - Can I really fit a 1.2 on my mountain bike 26 rims?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Tempted to pick up some Hutchinson Top Slick Gold tires from Nashbar on close out. They are 26x1.2 or 26x1 - will this work really work on my current rims, and what size tube will I need to get to fit in these suckers. My rims are Mavic x223 . Seems very narrow to fit on mountain bike rims.

They should work fine. I have Richie Tom slicks on my commuter and they have been trouble free. ;)

Nikos,
I just put the same tires on my ZAC 19s. They are great.

I have had Specialized Fat Boy 1.25 on my mountain bike for a long time. Work great.
I put performance 1.1s on my 26" RynoLite rims - seemed a bit tight to put on, but worked just fine
