hi people,

I've only been riding for a couple of months and looking at buying a new road bike as i'm currently borrowing my dads knackered old one. being a student i only have a budget of about $800. i'd prefer to get the best frame possible because i can upgrade components later on when needed. what manafacturer should i go for? i've seen a nice bianchi and a specialized. which is the lightest/better frame? or should i go for something else?

for $800 you can easily get the specialized sport. It has an Alu frame, carbon fork and seatpost. That was my budget last year in school and i got practicly everything i need (eg. bag, tubes, pump, patch kit etc) for $800. I would recomend this bike to anyone, the frame is rock solid and the carbon is a nice dampener. I have not had much experiance with other bikes, so I'll leave that up to other members.
