This post is not about the similarly named Wild West Century in Waco being held this weekend.

Is anyone else going out to La Vernia this weekend for this ride? It's $30 to register and you get a t-shirt and apparently a barbecue plate with your registration. For those that don't know where La Vernia is, it's southeast of San Antonio on highway 87.

I wish. My brother is coming into town, and it's his birthday (he is turning nineteen). For some reason, his ideal weekend did not include going down to La Vernia. . . He obviously has his priorities messed up. ;)

It was a nice ride, well supported and the 62 mile route was pretty good. I think I'll definitely be back next year. I wish I had some statistics on my ride, by I left the gps on all night and when I rolled out of the gate I got a lovely low battery warning.
