Introductions - Hey.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My name's Ivan. I've been biking for over a month, mostly for commuting purposes. Although I have a car, I pretty much have no use for it anymore since biking has been so pleasing. I have a Sunbird Free Spirit road bike I found at a flea market, and it's done the job so far. One day when I'm a rich man, I'll upgrade, but I'm having a blast on this one.

Mostly joined to learn some tips on bike maintenance (I'm a total noob when it comes to things like this). Here's to a long stay on this forum.

EDIT: I'm in Chicago, by the way.

Hello Ivan, yes even the Sunbird should do you just fine to get you started :) . And better yet, the maintenance on it is just like maintenance on any other bike (well, modern bikes have brifters, but that's still something not too difficult for someone reasonably mechanically inclined).

Check out the regional forums...and

Welcome to BF!
