The long story:

Started commuting last spring on a well used Fuji Allegro. As my handling, conditioning and wrenching skills improved, I updated the drivetrain with better parts, and even laced up some nice 36 spoke Mavic Open Sport rims on classic Campy hubs. These made of a huge difference in the overall feel of the bike, from a stiffness and power transfer perspective. Then I added a brand spankin' new IRD 7-speed freewheel in 13-28 flavor, a set of moustache bars, Brooks B17, old 80's, long reach Dura Ace brakes and bar end shifters. All good.

While I'm happy with the drivetrain, the frame feels lazy, soft and leaden, although it does fit like a glove. Yes, I'm just over the line into Clyde territory, but that said, a similar vintage Miyata 312 feels light and responsive, although it is too big.

Thus, I want to transfer my nicely tweaked drivetrain over to another frame. Top tube needs to be pretty close to 56cm ctc; 55 to 56.5 are pretty much the limits. I can be a little more flexible on seat tube, although 59cm center to top is about the upper limit. Would prefer a decent quality, double butted tubeset. Moderate scratching, rubs marks and overall signs of use are fine, but please no rust buckets.

Would love to find something nice in lugged steel, particularly with chromed lugs, like a Raleigh International, but that may not be realistic. Might consider a newer TIGed frame, like a LeMond Zurich, if in a better tubeset. I hate to toss out a price range, but I've been looking at stuff up to $250. Just is case there is something local, I'm in Cincinnati.

Yes, I've been playing the E-bay game a bit, but it's been a enormous time suck. There have been a couple BIN offers that I should have been a little quicker to jump on, but now that I'm ready, they are few, and far between.

I'll have a nice Specialized Allez comp frame/fork hanging in my garage here in a week or so. 56c-c seat and top tubes. Nice dark red color and it's in great shape. It's a lugged steel frame and is quite light and rides very well. I'll be building up a new GTR frame as soon as I get it in the mail. Here is a pic of it built up (it's also my current avatar, but that's a tiny pic):

Let me know what you think and perhaps we can work out a good deal for you. :D Depending on what seatpost size your currently running, I won't have much use for the Ritchey 27.2 post as it won't fit in my new frame. I was going to list it on ebay, but I'd be much happier to see it go to someone here on the forums.
Cheers!
