I've been road riding for a couple years, this year more seriously than last I'm about 188 lb, 6'1", was 186 lb at the beginning of the summer. My ideal weight is probably around 175lb but I drink too much beer. Until I was about 28 my I could never get my weight above 155lb so I've always been skinny. But anyway, I'm not really concerned with weight, I've just noticed my body changing during the last month of riding and my main concern is loosing muscle mass and strength.
During the last week or so after starting to do intervals about 3-4 weeks back I'm noticing the leg muscle changing. My thighs seems smaller (more lean), yet I have the same or improved muscle strength. Is this a normal evolution in training? I've alsostarted using post ride recovery drinks and eating right away after each ride, someting I never did in the past and would often wait 1hr or so after the ride to eat ( shower, laundry etc..)
Another point Instead of focusing on 60 - 70km daily rides I'm doing 1-2 hour ( 20 - 30km ),more intense rides.
