9/20 I bought a used windshield from a Vetter fairing, which will be trimmed some and used for my light fairing project.
Left to get:
Signal relay
Switches
Fiberglass kits
Pontiac "Tempest" badges and fender ornaments perhaps ('61)
Powdercoating
Okay...idea time! I have an idea to ease the shaking on the saddlebags. That will be the next post after I get some time in Paint to illustrate it.
This is the windshield Yes it looks funny but that's the angle and it's all there):

It's all boxed and ready to estimate and send off Monday.
I recall seeing a few posts here but the email digest just sent 21, mostly for the fenders?

I went to Seattle 15 years ago. Space Needle, the arena, downtown, went past the Paramount daily, great and affordable delis (then) and one of the few places I've found pistachio ice cream without 31 flavors on the sign at the old fifties themed restaurant in the Seattle Center. That EMP this is there now isn't it?
If you like emergency vehicles stopping short of a parade, go stand near Macy's (Bon Marche). Our conference was at the Sheraton Downtown. I didn't go near the docks.
Always a fun walk though there unless you all have another riot! (That was SP:eek::eek:KY TO WATCH AND RECOGNIZE)
Here's my new badge and ornament set coming next month...

Fall's coming and I've been doing a tonne (metric or something) of things, sold off two stereo systems of my stuff, bought a Laserdisc machine and DVD/CD carousel player (both Pioneer), 3 Laserdiscs and a Sony CRT projector ($10, 50 and 50, first and last need repairs and turning a $2 leftover dresser into a projector stand with doors and two drawers for storage (still in progress).
I have a rear rack on Tempest and the badges arrived two days ago with the the James Taylor and Eagles LDs. That metal was a bit thin and I can tell it needs a rod or plate in the middle and down the two side channels (to allow eyelets to be added) but over all it's a good thing!
The addition of the rack seems to make the rear ride a bit stiffer by itself. I got some lock nuts to keep the saddlebags from getting loose and I'm still toying with using rubber bushings to smooth the bumps to them out. The rack is about level with the saddlebags and makes a very good platform to use indeed and I'm still working on it's design, but Gary did a great job, just as he did on the mount, bending and welding, painting a devising the attachment hardware (simple but he's excellent and having an agribusiness shop to work in has been invaluable to me)!
I'll try to get more pics in ASAP, sorry about the vacation, winter's coming and I've got to sell some more stuff and get the windows covered and get ready to use my evil stereo powers to save my entertainment happiness!

I've had the concept in my head for a long while but I just threw those four drawings together. That is the frame although the front is not completely resolved. The ribs are for weight reduction and I will foam them inside and bond a plastic outer shell in pieces to lay the form for fiberglass. Some extra fabrication will be needed for the top with the lighting and the windshield.

You have all the time in the world when you haven't gotten all the $$$ together, plus you're worried about the frame...lots of bills and wondering about my health for a little while.
Here's more, color/graphics with the hood ornament from the '61 Tempest incorporated!

I'm not as bad off as I thought once...my blood sugar is under better control, I'm being changed to different pills and my weight should go down more when I do change. It will help my other medicines also and hopefully my good cholesterol won't be low soon and the triglycerides will be much lower.
Good night. I split the dinner stuff I got with the couple across the street that have a baby and aren't doing much better than I am and so I've been helping them get going and finding work for him to try for when I see it. We're all hoping he's getting an old job back. A few apples and some oatmeal is the start of apple crisp as I recall.
I have already eaten the leftover ham, apples and buns and I still have an orange :)

It was very windy yesterday, but that wasn't what did it really. Both lids popped open and I lost a 5 cent pop bottle plus the box in the front basket was 30 feet down the sidewalk from the phone company where I parked it. I got the box back and I should've shut the lids and locked them (they pop open if it tips) but I didn't so when the wind came up again and I dropped it the left side lid came off.
Not a bad break, it was clean and the red cover over the hinge can be saved also but it needs glue and stuff. The parts are locked inside and both panniers are duct taped closed. I think I left the box behind and it had two good headlamps I was wanting to see about cutting the lenses off for mounting in the 1940's Ford spotlight bezel I'm using as a headlight with the reflector from a 6V lantern and LEDs. I hope I have a third, they were free.

I'd hate to tell you after the hug, but the frame broke again, one of the forks behind the crank, then took the brazing out again. I'm trying to get ahold of my friend with the Monark as I don't believe he's gonna use it and I want to buy his and transplant. It looked like it was corroded in there from a glance down at it, or maybe it was the metalworking.
It's been snowing again. It looks like I have to take a long walk or two today.

Found a person in the area that has a whole bunch of my type of frames. One option and they are ready to go too. Another option is cutting the other tube and adding a rebar so to speak then welding with sleeves and brazing. That guy had some nice bikes and looked rather skilled, so I called him and maybe I can use the fenders that didn't make it gone as a trading point.
I fell in love with THAT FRAME and love it even more than a Typhoon or Flyer and it will be my favorite design until they bury me. I think mixtes and Univegas in general are really neat but I'm just too BIG. I've been offered a tricycle but how do you get along SW 4th Avenue on one when the road is dangerous for those and the sidewalk can be the only place you CAN go and be clear of traffic?
THAT FRAME it's gonna be.

And so it does...
I was nervously happy to hear that Gary had not only welded the bike back together but INDEED had added reinforcement to the frame although I'm not certain as to what it looks like yet (I suspect that the part that broke had bars/filling done at the least as I had talked to him and mentioned it specifically.
It is buffed down and primered and ready for painting if the paint shop owner is satisfied and it's coming home partly assembled and will be stripped down again to be finished, but for the fairing and the saddlebags (awaiting repair to one that lost the lid in a clean break--thank goodness).
It will be a happy but strange heart that waits anxiously for it's arrival, like waiting for a brother that lost a leg in war and you love him always but you aren't used to dealing with the new physical reality that is settling in. Uncertainty and the hope you can just go on and not be unsure again.
I realize I was a bit late getting back today but then again it is only past ELEVEN in the Pacific timezone and West so...
There it is.

I went snow biking tonight, mainly from necessity to ge to the auction and see if there was any computer related parts, memory, any hard drives but I also had to keep up on news of my old GF who slipped and I though she had received a concussion from her talking and mannerisms on the phone so I had to get somebody to have her checked out while across town. She had a big knot on her head but No concussion thank goodness and some muscle strains. She told me a while ago they gave her pain medicine a shot and when she got off the table alll her joints just straighten out and she popped into shape again!
She's getting a good nap and I'm getting a great ride. It gets paint this weekend!

Good. It'll be gone for the weekend and won't be primer grey ANY MORE. I've never had one done up the way I dreamed, and I'm going to ask him to remove the head badge so I can have it restored and replaced on the bike, probably another one on the fairing later.
I wish I could rollerskate better...I've seen a lot of search references for Rollfast rollerskates lately. The newest Rollfast I've seen so far is a 1972 juvenile model. I haven't really found a good story or book just yet about the Harris company and it's bike and skate line or if anybody bought or absorbed the firm and I would love to have some guidance.

OKAY!
After a lot of delay and waiting, I'm stripping the frame and saddlebag carrier. It goes to the body shop in the morning. By Monday or Tuesday it should be done. I can't document the process in pictures as my Epson stopped uploading although it takes pictures and I don't have the 5-pin mini to USB connector for my HP Photosmart 120 yet. I will by Tuesday. I will have a new pair of shoes also and that is great as I think these worn out shoes are a lot of the reason I hurt my back last week. It still hurts to twist in bed suddenly and will take a week or two to get over it.
I hope the ATI All In Wonder card I found for $5 at the computer store will finally help me finish a real video clip for You Tube and not just the 10 second Windows Movie Maker slideshow of my opening...

That's PAC-PIZZA, champion of homemade cuisine from 100% donated foodbank items. He took the heat for all of us!
BTW, does the nut on the crank turn clockwise or counter clockwise to open it? If it's CCW then it's being a pain and it's keeping me from getting it to him. He says I need to finish it but neither I or my strong neighbor could make it come off that way and it took a long time to get the coaster brake off and I used a Channel-Lok with a hammer to untorque the rear axle nuts after the LBS owner jammed them yet again and claims it's to avoid "liability issues"...it will be such if I hurt myself trying to free a nut. DUH. I'm no good at tube repair/replacement but I try to do what I can.
The new Reebok court shoes I asked for in exchange for supplying a stereo set for his new shop haven't been delivered yet either and my feet are in bad shape, not to mention these old ones gather up the road gravel in the heels for some reason. I spent several hours with rather limited bending ability geting it stripped and walking for three hours paying bills etc and it's hard to let a back recover like that.
Anxiety should be hung.
