Just wondering if anyone wants to throw their two cents worth in (within the next 48hrs).
I found a Giant Carbon fork on ebay that appeared to a great upgrade for my OCR-3. The fork was listed as "You are Bidding on A New Giant Carbon Aero Fork, It's new old stock, never been mounted."
After bidding on the fork, I discovered a recall notice for Giant forks because of a breakage problem from a few years back.
I've managed to find pictures of Giant Road bikes from the recall year (2000 I believe), and they have the decal with "Giant" written down the tube three times. I found the 2000 Giant TCR 2 at this site:

Here's a link to the eBay listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3621751369&category=22681
I've emailed the seller with my concerns and he's "thanked me for my interest" and will advise me of the date code when he returns to town on Friday. The listing ends on Wednesday.
I'm a little embarrased for jumping in without doing the necessary background work but I feel justified in not completing the transaction if my suspicions are correct. Beyond that, if I don't go through with the transaction because it was recalled, I have a feeling the fork will get relisted and some unsuspecting rider will end up taking his/her chances with a defective product.
Anyone out there with firsthand knowledge of the fork and can recognize whether it's a problem fork? The pictures on the eBay auction link are pretty detailed.
