Note the comment: Motorcycle officers sit in the shade under the bridge between Miramar Road and entrance to the 163 freeway. I've witnessed officers walk out to the middle of the road, put his hand up and pull cars over which is a very dangerous thing to do since 2 bicyclists have been killed there within the past 3 years. The speed limit on this road is 65mph!

Note the comment:

Is your point that it may be dangerous to move from the shady side of the road to stand or bicycle in the middle of a road with a 65 mph speed limit?

Noted. Who wudda thunk it?

The problems with Kearny Villa Rd. are:
1) The 65mph speed limit is indeed too high.
2) The free merges and diverges are extremely bicycle- and pedestrian-hostile.

Unfortunately, there is no reasonable alternate route for bicyclists.
