First time poster. Anyone have any recommendations for racing saddles? I'm currently looking at a Selle prolink trans am. Are there any other saddles from Selle worth looking at? I think the main priority is comfort; I'm not too worried about perforamnce things like weight, etc.
Thanks,
-Bill

Look at the Brooks leather saddles. Many people have been using the same saddle for years. When they get new bikes, they swap saddles because of the comfort of their old Brooks.

OK......if weight is not an issue, then consider Brooks. Once broken in, you wouldn't wanna sit on anything else!
Brooks is an exrcise in patience. If your butt can handle about a yr of pure pain then go for it. After that they do seem to loosen up but for me the weight is just not worth it. There are plenty of other, lighter options around.
I would go for a Fi:zi'k Aliante saddle. They're the bees knees for comfort and light at around 220gr. Thats about half the weight of a brooks
Selle Italis Prolink is also an excellent range of saddles. Also break in and mould to your butt shape

I've been riding Flites (genuine gel, ti rails version without cutouts) on both my RB and MTB for the longest time and have considered switching to the ProLink range. I'm not really unhappy with the Flites but I do like trying new things. Anyone have a good comparison between the two saddles or should I simply go find a bike that has one installed already and give it a spin? How different is the shape/profile?
Khuon,
on my training bike i made that switch and it was much of a much ness really. Personally I think the Flight is the better saddle of the two but I've sold it on to someone who is'nt selling it back.
Butt the more I rid the Prolink the more I like it so....
in terms of shape the only thing they share in common is the dipped centre section. Flight is slightly narrower at the rear. It's much like the Fi:zi'k Aliante on my Litespeed, just not quite as comfortable.

A year of pure pain? You must've adjusted it wrong. The last 2 Brooks saddles I bought (B66, and Team Professional) were more comfortable straight out of the box than any plastic saddle made. In the case of the Team Pro, it just keeps getting better.
Of course, if you weigh 250 lbs, and you try to cheap out an extra $5 by buying the B17narrow over the B17 (neither of which I consider to be a terribly comfortable model, BTW), it will be painful.
