View Full Version : Help With New Bike
Hello, I'm new to this site and I'm trying to get into freestyle or flatland riding and need help with buying my first bike. I saw a used one for sale called a Royce Union but I don't know if I should get it. I think its an older bike, and I don't know if I should just buy a cheap one to start off or if I should spend the extra money for a new one that will last. Any help would be great.

you should buy a good bike and learn on it and you will have much better progress. the usual bikes i've seen people use are the ever popular dk six pack and stolen heist or score. i would strongly suggest gettin a six pack cause its got a full chromoly frame, which is wat you want, trust me. it is also pretty afordable compared to some others out there. and also, if you are concerned about the bike's weight, don't be. you will just have to practice with it and you will get stronger and be able to jump it just as high as a lighter bike. besides, a heavier bike prepares you for the lighter ones as well. my bike weighs almost 40 pounds, but i can jump it almost one and a half feet off flat ground. if i had a lighter bike, i would not be able to jump it much higher( i borrowed my friend's dk fury, only got about 6 inches more height). the dk six pack would probably be your best bet for starting off, but you could get a stolen heist or score if you want, they're both good bikes.

save that please.
Thanks for the help guys, I guess I'll pass on the used bike and check out some of your recommendations. I've read some other threads about 1 and 3 piece cranks, but how important is a 3 piece crank for flatland riding. (I'm about 180 lbs btw)
