Southern California - GMR Bathrooms

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Any scouting reports on bathrooms at the bottom of GMR in the Glendora area? Staged at the Goddard Middle School (less than a mile from where GMR starts), but it didn't seem to have open bathrooms (despite the fact that there were youth soccer games going on...). Yeah, I can pee in the bushes, but some of the ladies I ride with want other options.

You can park at Encanto Park which is a few miles away from the start of GMR. They open the bathrooms there at 7am I think.

I usually make a pit at the McDonalds on Rt 66 and LoneHIll. But that's another mile from Glendora Highschool (Valley Center and Foothill). Might have porto's at G High near the tennis courts.
There used to be a port-o-potty at 4 miles up into GMR where the consruction was taking place. But I think that's gone now that the road is done.

Pioneer Park is on Sierra Madre just east of hwy 39, (Azusa Canyon), and has nice bathrooms. It's about 3 miles west of GMR, but the construction forces you to go around, for now.

I practically always make a stop there since I prefer to climb 39 and East Fork rather than GMR. Last year on a rainy weekday when I was using the urinal, I was followed into the bathroom and propositioned by a rather desperate, seemingly homeless drug addict/prostitute, while her old man pimp/father? stood guard at the door. I still stop there and the bathrooms are usually clean, just keep your eyes open. If you're driving Encanto is also a good option, you will just add a couple of miles to your ride which shouldn't hurt.
