Does anyone know where you can buy a treaded 1" track fork (preferabbly lugged) with no brake drillings?

How about a Cinelli Olympic track fork available here:

I think you can buy the fork seperately from both Soma and Surly as well. Spicer (www.trackbikesource.com) also sells forks.

I have a Soma fork right now, but I'd like something without brake holes. Maybe I ought to bondo up the hole.

is it possible to go from a threadless fork to threaded? I have a bianchi pista and have been seeing that all the nice track forks are threaded. oh my forks 1" now

Most definitely......
I'm assuming you're looking to buy a new threaded fork? You also need to replace your headset to a threaded, and obviously a new quilled stem as well. Are the new Bianchi Pistas 1" threadless? My old Bianchi Pista fork is threaded.

yeah, the new pistas are 1" threadless. personally, i think it's pretty cool.

The 2003 Bianchi is 1" threadless. No problem going to threaded, just need some new stuff. I like the quill stems better anyway. So far, it looks like the Cinelli is the only track fork I've seen sold seperatley. $200 is a little steep. That's half way to a new DeBernardi.

The thing about track bikes is that the classic picture of one is a lugged steel frame, threaded fork, toe clips, so on and so forth.

The track is the last place where those parts and materials seem to be hanging on, and now there are even a lot of new track bikes that are aluminum and carbon fiber, threadless headsets, bars that look a lot like road bars and less like classic track drops, etc.

I don't know what my point is except that if you have a newer bike with newer components you are enjoying the efficiency of technology and whatnot; If you have an older style bike then you are exuding style I suppose.

As far as switching to a threaded fork goes, what is wrong with the Bianchi fork? (Other than the fact that it looks like a BMX fork -- I have one too..)

Nothing is wrong with the Bianchi fork. Its just the asthetics of the whole thing. If I would have seen myself typing this when I rode street on BMX bikes I would have punched myself. The clean look of no braze ons, no holes, lugged frames looks so sick. I guess I should just keep my eyes open for a vintage track frame.

It's threadless, the reason I"m asking is I want a quill stem. There are no threadless stems that have the drop like quill track stems...

Ok...this is what you can do... Look for a 1" threadless high-rise stem and mount it upside down. Salsa 105 degree threadless road stem is kinda nice....
