no, definitely not - they are welded/brazed on there (don't know the technical term). i think they are called brake bosses, but that could be something else. i wish they were, since i just converted my xcheck to fixed/free.
Dare I inquire why one would wish to do such a thing?
Leave them on. If you hate them or something, get another fork. You could resell the original Cross Check fork and get some money back from it. The whole point of the Cross Check (to me) is that you could do anything with it. Don't limit your operational flexibility like that!
I wasn't implying that I would cut them off, only that, if they were threaded into the frame, I might want to remove the posts should I run the bike fixed or want to use dual pull calipers.
