Where the heck did that come from?
Just as I closed my eyes last night I saw a flash of lightening - not all that common out here.
I knew it was looking bad.
Woke up this morning and I could hear it coming down. Real rain, not that fake, sprinkely stuff.
I didn't get my ride today. By the time it stopped, it was too late for me
I hate when that happens. It'll be back to the trainer soon

+1. I'd rather have to shovel rain than snow from the driveway!

Like a dummy, I went out with some other optimists for a short ride and got soaked, squishy socks and all.

I woke up to rain falling so decided to take the morning to clean house (what a novel concept!) and then get out in the afternoon for a short ride. Never made it out. I feel guilty for wasting a Saturday not riding but am so grateful for the rain. I hope we get more! It's so needed right now.

If the weather does not look too good for a Sunday ride- Then I do go out on Saturdays- Then if is fine Sunday- A Bonus Ride. And if It rains Sunday- I get wet.
It might just be me but a LOT of the Eastern US is looking very, very dry. We just drove from NC to southern Wisconsin and back and did not notice any area that looked like it had received it's share of rain this year. We were amazed at how things looked really dry pretty much the whole trip........A crisis might be a brewing if we don't get some gifts of moisture.........and pretty soon!!

This is a problem we are having in the South East of the UK. We are not at crisis point -especially this year but New resoirvoirs will have too be built just to cope with the dry spells. Let alone the fact that plenty of new houses have been designated for the S.E.
So far this year- the rest of the country has been inundated with rain-leading to several Cases of Flooding. Whilst OXford was being Flooded- Only 100 miles from here by Road- I was having to water the garden.
We had rain today- Or last night- for the first time in about 2 months. Only 1" but enough to say that I will not get the hose out for a couple of nights.
I know some of you out there do not believe it but Global Climate Change is happening. Parts of Europe have had a 5C average rise in temperature and Temps up in the 120F for weeks on end has ruined the tourist trade in Greece. Here in the UK we are getting warmer dryer winters- when the resoirvoirs would normally be filled up- and the Summers are cooler. At least it makes for better riding weather- Providing you can cope with the wind.
