My wife and I are doing the ACC for the first time next weekend.
Pass along any tips or insights if you wouldn't mind.
You know, places to see or eat, ways to make it more enjoyable, whatever. Thanks

Plan on pretty much any type of weather. I've ridden the ACC in cold rain, hot sun, and somewhere in between. The terrain is rolling, with a few hills now and then, but nothing all that difficult. There is one stretch of about 1/2 mile of dirt road that has been on the ride the past couple of years that gets kinda sloppy if it's wet out. Last year there was one section of the ride that just seemed to suck the energy out of pretty much everyone, don't know exactly why but most of the folks I talked to mirrored the same sentiments.
Other than that, it's a great ride. It winds through some of south west Michigan's prettiest countryside. The SAG stops are conveniently spaced, and if it's cool they'll have some of their world famous potatoe soup. They always have apples, apple cider and trail mix, along with bananas and pretzels here and there.
My wife and I were signed up to go, but had a chance to take a family trip to Tenn over the weekend, so we opted to bail this year.
Good luck and have fun.

are there small towns along the route? Was thinking of having a beer in a small bar from time to time. Maybe a restaurant too. I searched for a route map but couldn't find one.

hey Mayo?, are you and the family leaving on Sunday morning... or will you already be up there?
I'm toying around the idea of maybe going up Sat night and spending the night somewhere... to avoid the 4:00am departure time!!

we're leaving tonight (fri). Wanna cram as much as we can into the weekend. No way I'm gettin up at 4 am.
There's lots of stuff to do on Saturday. Most of the nicer places have a 2 night stay policy, so we leave tonight.

We prefer to think of you as one hour behind...
