School is back in session in North Carolina. While this is generally a good thing, I must paraphrase the Waterboy's mother, "School Busses are the Devil!!!!" Too much exhaust, too wide, and just plain ugly.

6 Busses and a bazillion (I counted) cars on one strech of road. I was sure I'd be nailed by a mirror. Once I got to the school, traffic was backed up for about 1/2 a mile with police directing all the mini vans and SUV's. What a mess.

I switched to this route last year to save some time, so this year they change the school schedule, apparently just to bother me. I would have to add several miles to avoid this road and those wonderful busses.

Ok, I feel better now.

I find it incomprehensible that school can start anywhere before September. Up here, we still have lots of summer left and we have to enjoy every minute of it. I've been out of school for 28 years and still get depressed when the stores put out their "Back to School" displays in late July.
Fortunately, my commute to work is before the buses are on the road, and the ride home is after the buses have taken all the kids home. Around here, the buses aren't the problem it's the crazed parents dropping off and picking up their kids at school.
