i am almost out of time here on the computer so ill try to get it all in.
yesterday i made 70 miles from malta to glassgo it should have been an easy day the weatherlady promised a west wind meaning a big push tail wind. It was everything but that, i wished she would learn to read a compass. the wind was steady 12 mph and directly in my face all day. i pushed real hard just to keep a pace of 8 mph at 80 rpm the hills wernt musch but in the wind they were giants!! i stoped at 23 miles for a rest and some fresh fruit i met the lady delivering dairy products and the soda delivery guy. Going on i made the nestt 25 miles and stoped fgor another break and saw the same delivery people in this other town, we talked some then i went on I made oit to a rest area just 15 miles from glasgo and stoped to rest i almost decided to camp right there. but got the energy to continue which made todays ride 15 miles shorter. I got the motel room cause i was exhusted and wanted a real bed
got up this morning and there wis a shift in the wind i now had the tail wind id been hopeing for, i was cruising about 13 mph with little effort i was still tired from yesterday, I stoped at 15 miles out in a real friendly town and ate pancakes and had a nice visit with damn near the whole town i commented that i hadent seen any other bikers in almost 2 weeks. What do you think? about a half hour later i came up an a guy riding a moped and pulling a bike trailer he was quite a sight we talked for awhile then we parted, a little later i met tony a hill billy from the deep south ridinf a touring bicycle similarr to ine we talked for quite some time he was about whiped out from battling this wind today and i was not in any hurry. It r4eally is good to see others stillout here i was begining to think i was the only one left.
tomorrow i will ride to culbertson and camp in the city park from there i get into the badlands area part of north dakota i remember it from going through last year that its an all day affair of climbing and decending if you think north dakota is flat ride trhough the area from williston to newtown there is a real noice cpouple that runs a camp site about halfway through and i will make it there to camp they either cook a breakfast or dinner for you when you camp and eithert is fit for a king.
I am planning a day off in minot i should hope to get there by sunday afternoon and hangarround to watch the packer game omn mondaynight go pack!!
time is up got to go see ya all
