I'm getting out of the Valley of the Sun for a week (Oct. 6-13).
I'll be staying at the Hilton in San Gabriel for 3 days and then heading down to San Diego (gas lamp district) for the remainder of the week. Any reccomendations for a 2-3 hour early moring ride? We're doing the touristy stuff in L.A. Hollywood, six flags, etc.. In S.D., the Zoo and other than that just relaxing. Also, if anyone has any must do's or ideas, please let me know.

Thank you all,

Brad

A great ride to do would be from the gaslamp up to Cabrillo National Monument, a beautiful place to ride.

Here's a route to the Cabrillo Monument from Balboa Park. Go north on one of the numbered streets between 1st and 6th and you'll hit Laurel, and you can pick it up from there. Going counter-clockwise is probably simpler traffic-wise.

How about some San Gabriel area rides?
I gave Huey77 a link to this forum figuring we had enough folks in both areas to give him some good options. I have never ridden west of the river trail up around the 210 to provide an insight.

Are you looking for restaurant recommendations also? Cause if so, I've got a few.
